Where does the cafe data come from?
Every cafe comes from OpenStreetMap, the open, community-built map of the world. Each row links to the exact record it was built from, so you can check the source and see what a mapper added.
The listings are a snapshot pulled on 18 September 2026, not a live feed. For a few cities, the pages also show opening hours or a website read from the cafe's own page, and each of those carries a source link in the row.
When a plan depends on one detail, you'll want to confirm it with the branch.
How do Google Maps hours and ratings get onto the city pages?
We look each map record up on Google Maps, and the last check ran on 6 October 2026 through DataForSEO.
A match counts only when the name fits and the Google pin sits within 200 meters of the map pin; the table then shows Google's weekly hours first and the star rating with its review count, each linked to the Google place.
That same check changes what we list.
We left out 143 listings that Google marked permanently closed, and we set aside 43 Google results that turned out to be a different business or place, such as a hotel, a gas station or a dental clinic, so those rows show the map's own details only.
Places Google marks temporarily closed stay listed, and their rows say so.
How are fields and areas handled?
Missing values show as not listed, and an explicit no stays no; a gap is never filled with a guess.
Cafes are grouped by area when the map names one, and gathered under Smaller areas otherwise, so a street name is never treated as an area on its own.
The same care runs across the city pages, for example our Cafes in Bacolod, Cafes in Pampanga, and Coffee Shops in Iloilo City lists.
Two branches with the same name stay separate when their map records differ, so a shared name never collapses into one row.
How are the pages written and checked?
The writing sticks to plain language and recorded facts: no tastings, no rankings, and no fake reviews.
Every page is built from a shared template and checked for structure, real cafe names, working links, and required credits. Those checks can't judge what a cafe is like today, so a quick question to the branch still matters.

Will an OpenStreetMap edit show here right away?
No. This is a static snapshot. A later rebuild with fresh map data is what brings a change into these pages.
Why is some cafe information missing?
Different mappers record different fields. A blank shows as not listed, and it's never replaced with a detail borrowed from a similar name.
Where do the hours and websites come from?
Google Maps hours come first on city pages where we matched a place. Otherwise the hours come from OpenStreetMap, or for a few cities from the cafe's own page, and each carries a source link in the row.
How do I report a wrong or missing cafe?
Message us on Facebook with the exact map link, or edit the shared map on OpenStreetMap so the fix helps everyone.
